After studying literature in hypokhâgne and khâgne specializing in theater and Drama, Alexandre Desmidt a Franco-Swiss Painter/Illustrator based in Paris obtained a Master’s degree « Strategic Communication and Marketing » at the school of communication and journalism La Sorbonne. In parallel with these six years of higher education, Alexandre developed his activity and his artisitc identity. Starting by photographing young actresses and apprentice actors in 2011 during his pre-school years, he gradually built a photographic writing on his own.
Alexandre’s illustrations and painting took as subject the body, always on the border between the beautiful and the ugly, the feminine and masculine, thhe alive and dead, and the fashion came to dress his silhouettes little by little.
His photographs and drawings converse amongst themselves, the movements and the colors answer each other, the looks, the attitudes, at once poetic, seductive and a bit disturbing.
Each medium allows him to explore different aspects of these same issues of identity and strange beauty, always seeking both to charm and destabilize the horizon of expectation of those who look at his images.
